Durst Rho 160 is a High Performance Production Inkjet Printer/Press, designed for heavy duty, continuous production on various media in the photographic commercial, screen printing and printing industry. This new screenless large-format direct digital printing device offers high flexibility and efficiency. Printed materials do not require any additional finishing and are ready straight off the press.

Direct digital printing to uncoated flexible and rigid media
Rho 160 prints directly to standard, uncoated roll media and boards up to 160 cm
(62 in.) wide and rigid material up to 40 mm (1.58 in.) thick for lowest production costs and highest flexibility.

High flexibility with quick changes to satisfy your customer needs
Roll-to-roll and sheet fed design (Durst Flatbed Technology pat. pending) featuring a very high flexibility and easy and fast media change from roll paper to Vinyl to fabrics to screens to boards, etc. with minimum media waste and no size limitations. Print sizes exceeding the max. paper width are automatically divided-up and exposed in sections. Operator can select how oversized panels are split. The desired overlap is adjustable. This unique design allows to virtually print any size.
Simple one man operation
A clearly designed and easy-to-use industry leading interface guarantees truly simple operation. The Durst Rho 160 uses exactly the same UNIX-based user interface as the industry's leading Durst Lambda Large Format Digital Photo Printers with over 600 users worldwide. The entire machine can be operated by only one person, including loading and unloading media.
Unattended high speed printing
The Rho 160 allows to load media lengths up to 400 m for long print runs and completely unattended printing for up to 4 hours (depending on roll length) with a print speed of up to 60 m2 per hour at 360 dpi.
Continuous ink supply
The Durst Rho 160 uses large, refillable ink containers for long run printing and to avoid running out of ink in the middle of a job.
Heavy-duty construction for longterm precision and durability
The Durst Rho 160 features a very solid construction designed for continuous operation with longterm precision for highest print quality and reliability.
Powerful Compaq XP1000/667 MHz (DEC-Alpha) workstation
With Compaq True64 (Digital UNIX) operating system (64 bit) and integrated high performance PostScript 3 RIP by Durst Dice America (400 MB in approx. 1 minute with automatic file conversion).

Fully automatic cutting with the Durst Autocutter XY. The Durst Rho 160 prints the Durst Autocutter Barcode Information for fully automated, unattended cutting of selected media with the Durst Autocutter 62 XY.
